U-M Football to take over WTKA in Ann Arbor to benefit new C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Women's Hospital
12-hour radio-a-thon to feature Michigan coaches, players, U-M physicians and patients from 7 a.m. on June 7
ANN ARBOR, MI – The University of Michigan Football Team will take over Sports Talk 1050 WTKA in Ann Arbor on Wednesday, June 7, to benefit the campaign for a new U-M C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Women’s Hospital.
The broadcast and its fundraising efforts will help to build momentum for the Carr's Wash for Kids community event, scheduled later that week from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, at Michigan Stadium. WTKA also plans to broadcast live from the Carr’s Wash for Kids event.
For the 12-hour radio-a-thon, Michigan coaches, players and former players will take turns hosting the show from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. The WTKA event will begin with Head Coach Lloyd Carr, and wrap up with several assistant coaches.
U-M coaches and players will be very active in the radio-a-thon, talking Michigan Football on the air and raising awareness for the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital campaign.
In addition to the Wolverine football program, physicians and other medical experts, along with patients and their families, from C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Women’s Hospital will be featured during the radio-a-thon.
