U-M's Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs appointed to VA's National Research Advisory Council
ANN ARBOR, MI –The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs recently appointed Robert P. Kelch, M.D., Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs at the University of Michigan, to serve on the VA’s National Research Advisory Council.
The council advises the federal Office of Research and Development secretary and under secretary on all matters related to the research program.
Members provide advice and recommendations on the nature and scope of research and development sponsored and conducted by the Veterans Health Administration. The primary goal of the council is to sustain a national research program focused on the high priority health care needs of veterans.
Kelch will meet two to four times a year with other NRAC members who are selected from knowledgeable experts and representatives with special qualifications and competence to deal effectively with research and development issues.
