ANN ARBOR, MI –The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Medical School will host a winter film series at the Michigan Theater, 603 E. Liberty St. in Ann Arbor starting Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006. The series begins with the classic 1948 film The Snake Pit, about a woman (Olivia de Havilland) who finds herself in a state mental institution but has no memory of how she got there. Following the film, Jonathan Metzl, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of psychiatry and women's studies and director of the Program in Culture, Health, and Medicine will be the featured commentator.
