ANN ARBOR, MI - The Wolverine football program will team with C.S. Mott Children's Hospital on Saturday, June 12, for the U-M Football -- Carr's Wash for Kids sponsored by Michigan International Speedway (MIS) to benefit the campaign for a new C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan.
"We want this to be a record-setting event, so our goal is to wash at least 833 cars, one for every victory in the history of our football program," said Carr. "Michigan football wants to help kickoff Mott's campaign for a new hospital. It's important to help those children and families that are in need of the services provided by the University's outstanding children's hospital."
The pace car for MIS will lead the charge as the first car through the community car wash running from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Payment for services will be done on a donation basis with all proceeds going to the campaign for a new hospital. Any donation over $25 will receive a complimentary T-shirt. Each car will receive one entry into the drawing, with prizes that include:
Cars will enter the stadium at Gate 9 and will weave their way to the car wash along the east concourse. The flagship station of University of Michigan football, WJR Radio (760 AM), will broadcast on-location its weekly 'The C.A.R. Show' hosted by Steve Stewart, Roger Kwapich and Dan Pietras from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information on Mott's "Champions for Children" campaign, see www.med.umich.edu/mott
