ANN ARBOR, MI - The Wolverine football program will team with C.S. Mott Children's Hospital on Saturday, June 12, for the U-M Football -- Carr's Wash for Kids sponsored by Michigan International Speedway (MIS) to benefit the campaign for a new C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan.

Carr's Wash for KidsHead coach Lloyd Carr, members of the coaching staff and players from the Wolverines' 2004 squad will hold a community car wash at Michigan Stadium to assist in raising funds for Mott's "Champions for Children" campaign. This project is part of the $2.5 billion The Michigan Difference campaign taking part throughout the University.

"We want this to be a record-setting event, so our goal is to wash at least 833 cars, one for every victory in the history of our football program," said Carr. "Michigan football wants to help kickoff Mott's campaign for a new hospital. It's important to help those children and families that are in need of the services provided by the University's outstanding children's hospital."

This includes an exterior car wash by Michigan football players, breakfast with Michigan coaches and players, special giveaways and five (5) entries into a prize drawing. To order tickets for the special car wash call Tammi Carr at (734) 998-6589.

The pace car for MIS will lead the charge as the first car through the community car wash running from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Payment for services will be done on a donation basis with all proceeds going to the campaign for a new hospital. Any donation over $25 will receive a complimentary T-shirt. Each car will receive one entry into the drawing, with prizes that include:

  • Honorary captain for a Michigan game during the 2004 season
  • Two (2) sideline passes for a 2004 game
  • Tour of the Michigan locker room (4 people)
  • Two (2) tickets to 2004 game of choice
  • Autographed Lloyd Carr football
