During
the last 3 months of pregnancy, you may begin having leg
cramps. These often occur while sleeping.
Tips
to prevent or relieve leg cramps:
- stretch
your legs (especially your calf muscles) before going
to bed
- avoid
pointing your toes when stretching or exercising
- apply
heat to your calf muscles
- massage
your calf muscles
- drink
plenty of water and non-alcoholic, decaffinated beverages
- have
3-4 servings of calcium-rich foods every day
