Primary Care Training

Residents spend four weeks in the outpatient family practice setting where they work one on one with Family Medicine faculty caring for patients with primary care needs. This is a valued resident rotation, as there is a varied and interesting patient population and the one-on-one teaching with the faculty is excellent.

There is ample emergency medicine training during all of the Gynecology months, as theObstetrics and Gynecology residents provide all consults to women with gynecologic-related complaints in the Emergency Room.

Training in geriatric medicine occurs during resident participation in the Osteoporosis Clinic, Family Practice Rotation and Urogynecology Clinic, as well as in the Breast Care Center, the Center for Vulvar Diseases and the Gynecology continuity clinics.
