How to Apply

The University of Michigan Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology accepts applications only from ERAS (the Electronic Residency Application Service from the Association of American Medical Colleges). You can contact the Dean's office at the U-M Medical School or your medical school for more information about ERAS, or visit   www.aamc.org/eras.

Residency Application Requirements (all transmitted by ERAS):

  1. Completed ERAS Application
  2. Three letters of recommendation (not including the Dean's letter). One of the three letters should be from the chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology of your medical school.
  3. Personal Statement
  4. Medical School Transcript
  5. Board Scores

International Medical Graduates

Here are the answers to frequently asked questions by graduates of international medical schools for applying to the residency program at the University of Michigan:

  1. We do not require minimum USMLE scores.
  2. U.S. clinical experience is not a requirement
  3. Our deadline for application consideration is November 1
  4. ECFMG certification at time of application is required (by November 1st).  Please review the ECFMG requirements
  5. We sponsor only J-1 visas.
  6. We do not offer pre-match
  7. We accept applications only through ERAS
