Our
Patient and Families
The Trauma
Burn Center consists of a ten-bed ICU and six-bed acute care
unit. Also included are an operating room, a wound care room,
and a family waiting area. Our patient population consists
of adults who have sustained multiple trauma, non-trauma emergency
illnesses, and patients with other illnesses who may require
accommodation in the Trauma Burn ICU. Also, adults of all
ages and pediatric burn patients are admitted to the Trauma
Burn Center.
Philosophy
of Care
The
nurses at the Trauma Burn Center strive to provide quality
care to severely injured patients from immediate post injury
through rehabilitation. We believe that each person is an
individual with specific needs whose care from the day of
admission is designed to return him/her to society as a useful,
productive individual. The Trauma Burn Program is a verified
Level 1 Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons
and a recognized regional burn center.
Our
Nursing Team
The
Trauma Burn nursing care delivery system is a combination
of case management and team nursing. Our nursing teams consist
of Registered Nurses, LPNs and Surgical ICU Technicians. The
nursing staff is oriented to care for all patients, ICU, step-down,
and floor status.
