Currently enrolled RN students or licensed RNs:
The purpose of the Shadow a Nurse Program is to give
potential nursing candidates an opportunity to observe
and experience U of M Nursing. You will be set up with
a preceptor and observe the procedures and skills performed
by a registered nurse for
3-4 hours. This experience is offered through Nurse
Recruitment for students currently enrolled in a RN
program or to licensed RNs looking for possible employment
at UMHS.

High School Students
Shadow
a Nurse available to High School students.
Spend 3-4 hours observing and talking with a nurse
in the patient care areas. Learn about the Nursing
profession up close and personal.

High School Students and Candidates Interested in
the Nursing Profession
Tours
available for
High School students and candidates interested
in the nursing profession, but not yet enrolled
in a nursing program. This is a 2 hour onsite program
discussing careers in Nursing. The tour will include
Survival Flight/ER, adult general care/ICU and pediatric
units while learning about the nursing profession.
There is a maximum of 12 students for each tour.
