Eligibility
Student nurses are eligible for these positions upon completion of a clinical rotation including physical assessment and activities of daily living. A resume is required.
Positions
Nursing assistant positions are limited and typically available in early fall and late spring. Available hours and shifts vary depending on the patient care area and hiring manager. Positions may be available in:
- University Hospital
- Mott Children’s Hospital (must have completed peds rotation)
- Ambulatory Care
- Home Care
- Cancer Center
Pay Rate
Nursing assistants are paid $13/hr. These positions are classified as temporary and therefore do not include benefits.
Interviewing process and questions:
Interviews are conducted by the hiring nurse manager. You may be asked for a clinical instructor reference.

NOTE: Nursing assistant positions are different from Certified Nurse Aide positions in that CNEA positions are classified as permanent and therefore include benefits. Call the Human Resources department at 734-647-5538 for information on available CNEA positions.
