Our
Patient and Families
The Adult Medical Observation Unit is an 18-bay unit specializing in the care of short stay medical and procedural patients most of whom originate fro m the Emergency Department. Care is provided for a wide range of medical patients that require brief, but intensive monitoring and teaching. The nurses, physicians and other care givers in the Adult Medical Observation Unit are experts in providing care in this specialized setting that requires acute assessment and teaching skills. Nursing care is individualized to each patient and/or family in order to address and meet their personal needs.
Philosophy
of Care
Patients and their families can expect to receive comprehensive, age- specific, family-centered care in an environment that supports the philosophy of acute care nursing in a state of the art facility. Nurses work in collaboration with other healthcare professionals/staff to meet patient/family needs. As an interdisciplinary team, the quality of care we provide is continually assessed and evaluated for on-going performance improvement to meet the changing needs of our patients and the environment. The nursing staff provide leadership in the nursing profession by participating with student education and research.
Our Nursing Team
Members of the Adult Medical Observation Staff come from a wide variety of practice settings and enjoy capitalizing on the strengths that each of them bring to the unit.
