Overview
Shawn first joined the University of Michigan Health System in 1997 as an OR nurse manager at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. She returned to UMHS in 2006 as the Associate Hospital Administrator for perioperative nursing. Her nursing career has spanned 35 years and included nursing administrative positions at the William Beaumont Hospitals in Royal Oak and Troy and at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester. She holds a CNOR certification, is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, and is active in several nursing organizations, including AORN, APIC and past treasurer of the Michigan Association for Healthcare Quality. She is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Michigan School of Nursing.
