Professional Overview

Ellen began her nursing career at UM in 1988 in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Since that time she has broadened her experience to include OR nursing, Ambulatory Care Nursing and a role as an Educational Coordinator. Her most recent experience is in Risk Management as an Administrative Manager where she provided departmental oversight and strategy for the collection, analysis and dissemination of claims and incident reporting data across the UMHS. In her new role as UH Operating Room Nurse Manager, Ellen will provide administrative and clinical leadership for 26 operating rooms and a clinical management team that includes both nursing and technical roles. She is responsible for the coordination of management and patient care activities that are consistent with the institutional and departmental goals and objectives.

Education

Ellen received her BSN from the University of Michigan, has completed course work towards her Master's of Science in Nursing Degree and has her Lean Certificate in Healthcare.
