Professional
Overview
Francene
has been employed by the University Health System since 1978.
Initially she worked as a staff nurse on a general surgery
unit. Increasing levels of responsibility were pursued as
a unit preceptor, educational coordinator, assistant head
nurse, Nurse Manager and Nursing Director in the Medical and
now as a director in the surgical area. Research involvement
includes studying back injuries impact on nursing and interdisciplinary
communication and collaboration. Francene has an adjunct faculty
appointment in the School of Nursing and have been Secretary
of the UM School of Nursing Board of Governors for the last
five years.
