Joint Implementation Team (JIT)

The Joint Implementation Team (JIT) was established in 1992 following the first contract negotiations which used the mutual gains process. The team is organized around and dedicated to utilizing mutual gains principles to resolve issues. The process involves exploring shared interests and creative options to achieve mutually agreeable resolutions.

JIT is committed to the efficient, prioritized implementation of agreements previously agreed upon during the collective bargaining process. In order to expedite resolution of operational issues that arise during the life of the contract, we provide initial and ongoing contract orientation, including clarification and interpretation of specific contract language.

The team communicates contract implementation status and decisions related to contract language interpretation and clarification to the UMHS nursing community via this Web site. We also plan and implement mutual gains training for new JIT members, and provide recommendations and consultation to new bargaining teams for subsequent contract negotiations.
