Social Work in the NICU Social Workers are available to each family whose babies are admitted to Holden Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The social worker will meet the family shortly after admission to the unit to assess the family’s needs and provide resources. Supporting counseling is also available. A parent meeting is held weekly which provides relevant information about parenting in a NICU setting as well as additional support for parents emotionally.
