The UMHS Nursing Community shared their preferred Teaching and Learning methods during the November 2005 Framework Implementation Team Community Feedback Sessions. At the top of the list was the “Web site”, and so this site, available both internally and externally, was created as a thorough guide for understanding of Framework and the application process.
Next, the community requested coaches. An initial group of 30+ coaches spent two days preparing for their roles in assisting nurses 1:1 or in groups with the Application Process. Coaches are an ongoing resource for staff.
In May/June 2006, over 1500 UMHS nurses participated in an “All Nurse Action Day” dedicated to providing essential information on Framework to the entire community. Several dynamic presenters spoke to the value and significance of Framework, the “how to” of exemplar writing, and the cutting edge concept of Positive Organizational Scholarship. The documents related to these important presentations are available on this website.
Managers, Central Committee, Appeals Board members, and UMPNC leadership all took part in focused educational sessions over a number of days in order to be fully prepared for their roles in Framework.
As Framework evolves and needs and preferences are further defined, additional educational resources will be developed. Exactly what these are will depend in significant part on input from you. We are working together to create our future in “Nursing at Michigan” !
