Eligibility to apply for advancement: Level A & B nurses

JIT Clarification, May 30, 2006

WHEN a Level “A” nurse can apply for advancement:

Level “A” who was hired in as a GN:

This nurse will be automatically advanced to level C on his or her 12 month anniversary date.

Level “A” who was hired in as a GN and worked on a first unit less than 12 months and then transfers to a new unit:

This nurse will be automatically advanced to level C on his or her 12 month anniversary date.

Level "C" nurse:

Any level C nurse can apply for advancement whenever he or she believes their practice and portofolio demonstrate the behaviors of the level to which they are applying.
