Nurses
at the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) understand
that people's needs reach beyond the physical when they're
faced with difficult situations.
They reach beyond traditional standards of care to provide
caring on every level.
Our nurses represent the human bridge in healthcare relationships,
linking patients and families across the continuum of care,
from clinic visits to the hospital and home. Our role is vital
in promoting wellness, preventing illness and helping patients
cope with and overcome illness, or injury. In addition our
nurses are valued members of a collaborative health care team,
providing up-to-the-minute patient progress information.
Nurses
are provided with opportunity and challenge at UMHS unavailable
in many settings. Our
tertiary health care center is recognized as one of the most
advanced academic and clinical healthcare organizations in
the world.
In this setting our nurses also have the opportunity to participate
in research and work with groups and individuals through community
outreach programs.
