Our Patient and Families

Our population's age group is from newborn to young adulthood. The diagnoses range from hematological disorders, such as chronic granulomatous disease and sickle cell anemia, to oncological disorders including leukemia, lymphoma, and solid tumor. A 24-bed unit, 7 Mott's Bone Marrow Transplant program does 40-50 autologous, cord, allogenic and unrelated transplants a year.

Philosophy of Care

7 Mott nurses provide expert, knowledgeable nursing care to pediatric Hematology/Oncology-BMT patients and their families. Our goal is to enhance our patients' quality of care in an environment conducive to education, research, and patient care. This unit practices family-centered primary nursing, with active primary nursing involvement in team meetings, treatment plans, and other decisions involving patient populations.
