Visiting Policies

There are no restrictions on visitation in Mott Hospital for parents and immediate family members of pediatric patients. For other visitors and children, visiting hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. If visitors are not able to come during these hours, please ask your nurse about specific visiting policies on your unit.

To protect pediatric and obstetric patients from exposure to childhood illness and other infectious diseases, all children under age 14 will be screened at the Admissions Desk before visiting the patient.

Please keep these guidelines in mind when visiting:

  • Generally, it is best not to visit hospitalized patients when you or your child is ill.
  • Patients often have special needs for food or beverages. Please check with the nurse before bringing or giving the patient extra food or beverages.
  • Patient bathrooms are for use by patients only. There are public rest rooms throughout the hospital for visitors and staff.
  • Patient rooms can comfortably accommodate two visitors at a time. When there are several visitors, please use the patient/visitor lounges on each unit as these areas can more easily accommodate larger groups.
  • Requests for overnight visits should be directed to the nurse for specific unit guidelines.
  • If you have additional questions, please call (734) 936-6641
