Projects
Our research is directed at the development of gene transfer therapies for diseases of the nervous system. We use recombinant replication-defective vectors created by modification of herpes simplex virus to deliver and express transgenes in central and peripheral nervous system. Each of these projects is designed to develop an understanding of the molecular mechanisms of the transgene effect while moving forward towards the development of an effective human therapy.
