Devin L. Brown, M.D. is an assistant professor of neurology and director of the Vascular Neurology Residency Program in the University of Michigan Medical School. She also is associate director of the Stroke Program in the Cardiovascular Center.

Her research interests include treatment of stroke patients with sleep disorders, stroke epidemiology, stroke and cardiac disease, and acute stroke therapy.

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992 from Brown University and her medical degree in 1997 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Dr. Brown completed a residency in 2001 and fellowship in cerebrovascular disease/stroke in 2003, both at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. She also completed a Master of Science degree in 2005 at the U-M School of Public Health.

Dr. Brown joined the U-M faculty in 2003 as an assistant professor of neurology and staff physician. Prior to her arrival in Ann Arbor, she served from 2001-03 as a clinical instructor of neurology at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Brown's honors include co-chief resident in neurology at the University of Virginia in 2000-01, National Scholars Honor Society in 2007, and the 2008 Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation McDevitt Excellence in Research Award. In addition, she was listed among the "Best Doctors in America" in 2007-08.

A fellow of the American Heart Association Stroke Council and member of the American Academy of Neurology, her publications include 48 peer-reviewed publications and three book chapters. She serves as an editorial board member of Neurology, and is an ad hoc reviewer for Stroke, Annals of Neurology, Annals of Emergency Medicine and the merican Journal of Neuroradiology.

Dr. Brown's service to the U-M includes membership on the Department of Neurology Education Committee, the Medical School Institutional Review Board and the NICU Quality Assurance Committee. She also serves on the Brain Injury Group.
