My parents emigrated to the U.S. from Greece, and I was born and raised in Minnesota along with my two younger siblings. I married Sarah in May 2007, near the end of residency, and she now works as a nurse in the Holden Neonatal ICU here at U-M. I enjoy playing soccer, refereeing professional soccer, watching professional sports, partaking in many outdoor activities, listening to classical music, tasting wine and other activities of generalized merriment. I have a great interest in the field of epilepsy, and I am pursuing a clinical neurophysiology fellowship this academic year. I chose Michigan because the area reminds me of home, the winters are milder than Minnesota, and the Midwest-paced lifestyle suits me well. The Neurology program is powerful in both academic and clinical aspects; the faculty as a whole are, without exception, motivated teachers, and the diverse training prepares well-balanced individuals for any career in Neurology.
