Dr. Barbas' research interests focus on the development of more effective therapies for adult dementias.  Related research interests include refining clinical research measures and methodologies and inquiries into ethical issues surrounding clinical care and trials for patients with dementia.  She is principal investigator for several active therapeutic drug trials sponsored by the National Institute on Aging and by the pharmaceutical industry for Alzheimer's disease.
