Peripheral Neuropathy Center
The Peripheral Neuropathy Center at the University of Michigan supports a Peripheral Neuropathy Clinic which incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to neuropathy. Patients are evaluated initially by neurologists specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the peripheral nerves and muscles (neuromuscular specialists). The Peripheral Neuropathy Center includes an endocrine specialist, physiatrist and neuropathologist with particular interest and training in peripheral nerve disorders who assist in evaluation and treatment if indicated. The Peripheral Neuropathy Center is a designated center of the Neuropathy Association.
Peripheral Neuropathy Center also sponsors a patient support group, which are held every other month and feature an educational lecture and an opportunity for patients to share their experiences.
The Peripheral Neuropathy Center supports and is actively involved in a number of research trials aimed at therapeutic and symptomatic treatment of neuropathy.
