rehabilitation of injured workers. These resources are available
through MWorks for educational programs, interdisciplinary consultation
and research projects.
- The Center for Ergonomics in
the College of Engineering is dedicated to improving
workplace efficiency and the safety of employees as they interact
with office or plant equipment.
- The University of Michigan Occupational
Hand Clinic specializes in work-related injuries to the
hand, wrist and elbow.
- The University of Michigan Spine
Program provides a comprehensive, patient-centered service
that addresses the controllable factors influencing persons with
spine disorders through diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and
preventive services.
- The Trauma Burn Center at the
University of Michigan is ranked among the best in the
country. In addition to medical care, the trauma center is very
active in providing community and corporate education services.
- The Asthma Airways Clinic
team includes specialists in allergy, pulmonary disease, public
health and patient education and offers complete health maintenance
for patients with asthma and airway diseases.
- The Center for Occupational Health
and Safety Engineering's NIOSH Education and Research Center
offers a variety of continuing education and professional development
courses on workplace health and safety.
- The Industrial Hygiene and Safety
Program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for
Engineering and Technology (ABET) and the Department of Energy
(DOE) and is a certified NIOSH Educational Research Center (ERC).
This program has the expertise to assess the potentially harmful
substances employees may come in contact with at their worksite.
