MWorks Services for Employers Discontinued
Due to the increasingly difficult economic climate in the state of Michigan, the University of Michigan
Health System was forced to make mid-year budget reductions to maintain financial viability. Unfortunately, these cuts
include thediscontinuation of MWorks Occupational Health and Disability Management services for employers effective
January 31, 2009. We are committed to assisting our current customers with their transition to new service providers.
Occupational Health Clinical Services Continue for U-M Campus
On March 16, 2009, the part of MWorks that served U-M Ann Arbor campus faculty and staff will merged with
the University Hospital’s Employee Health Services to create a single clinic for work-related health care needs of all Ann
Arbor campus and Health System faculty and staff. Dearborn campus faculty and staff requiring occupational health physicals
will also use this new clinic.
The new clinic, which is part of the MHealthy program of employee health and well-being services,
is called U-M Occupational Health Services.
Ergonomic services also are available for U-M faculty and staff through the MHealthy
program.
Transitioning Patient Records
As of February 1, 2009, new patients from employers external to the U-M will no longer be accepted and
existing patients need to be transitioned to another service. We are committed to working with our customers in
transferring employee records to a new service provider. For assistance, please contacts:
