The statistics are staggering. In 2004 U.S. private industry lost 80 million workdays because of injury. In any given year, nearly six million workers across the United States will experience a work-related injury or illness. Many of those cases result in lost work time, medical treatment, work restrictions or require a transfer to another job. MWorks provides occupational health, disability management and health promotion services and is dedicated to improving the health of Michigan's workforce.

World Class Resources
As part of the University of Michigan Health System, MWorks offers employers cutting-edge services and practices, and highly respected experts. Our experts work with you to develop comprehensive and individualized programs to address the unique health and safety needs of your worksite. Our program offerings include:

Occupational Health
Our Clinical Occupational Health Program offers employers customized healthcare services designed to address the unique needs of your worksite from minor injuries to complex chemical and environmental exposures. Our providers have extensive educational and practical experience in occupational medicine. They will work with you to prevent work-related incidents and help you effectively manage them when they do occur.

Disability Management
This comprehensive program is designed to address disability concerns for both work-related and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. The focus of Disability Management is the effective resolution of a disability with a positive outcome for the employee, the employer, the insurance carrier and/or the third party administrator.

Ergonomics
MWorks provides injury prevention services to businesses and employees throughout the state of Michigan. Ergonomic consultations focus on matching the work and the workplace with the worker through improving work habits, workstation layout, successful use of equipment, and use of safe body mechanics. The MWorks focus is first on a cooperative effort including the employee and the employer to utilize available resources to maximize safety.

Corporate Wellness
Since 1992, MFit has offered employers and community groups programs to maximize the health of the people in their organizations. MFit's staff has expertise in all areas of health education, prevention and wellness. From health risk appraisals to incentive programs, behavior modification classes to on-site fitness center management, our programs focus on achieving measurable outcomes.

Our staff includes specialists with unsurpassed knowledge in business, education, industry and healthcare with the vast resources and expertise of the University of Michigan at their fingertips.
