Dr. Sihler a graduate of the University of Virginia and Wake Forest University School of Medicine, completed her general surgery residency at the University of Iowa. During that time, she acquired a master's degree in epidemiology at the University of Iowa College of Public Health and was a clinical research scholar in the Graduate Training Program in Clinical Investigation as well as a post-doctoral fellow at the Iowa Injury Prevention Research Center. After completing her surgical residency, Dr. Sihler went on to do a fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. She joined the faculty at the University of Michigan in the Division of Acute Care Surgery in 2006. Her research interests with the M-SCORE group are in outcomes from trauma and trauma systems issues, particularly as they relate to rural trauma.
