Dr. Miller received his B.S. from the University of Michigan and his M.D. from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He undertook both his general surgery internship and urology residency training at the University of Michigan. Following residency, he completed additional fellowship training in health services research at UCLA/RAND, and a clinical urological oncology fellowship in the Department of Urology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Miller's research, which has been funded by the National Cancer Institute and American Cancer Society, is focused in three main areas: 1) improving performance measurement for surgical and procedural disciplines; 2) characterizing determinants of technology adoption of in surgery; and 3) understanding how the health care delivery system influences quality and access to care for patients with urological cancers.
