Kevin C. Chung, MD, MS, received his health services research training as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar from the University of Michigan. He obtained his general surgery training from the University of Texas in San Antonio, his plastic surgery training from the University of Michigan and his hand surgery training from the Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore. Dr. Chung's research interests involve the structuring of evidence-based practice and research in hand surgery. He developed the Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire, which is widely used in this country and around the world for measuring outcomes after hand surgery. He has received funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for evaluating outcomes of joint replacement surgery for rheumatoid hand conditions, and he has served on numerous NIH grant review panels for programmatic and training grants relating to rheumatoid arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions.
