The Mott Golf Classic has assisted in enabling the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital to provide more than just medical treatment. The funds raised by the Classic allow the Children's Hospital to provide a community of care for patients and their caregivers. The Mott Golf Classic raises necessary funding to support Mott's unique and important programs and services. In fact, money raised through the Classic:
- funded a $1,000,000 commitment to the Ronald McDonald House.
- subsidizes housing and meal assistance for qualifying families.
- established, funded, deployed, and sustains the Mott Family Network.
- fulfilled a three-year commitment to the U-M Department of Pediatrics to fund a program for the development of health services research for children.
- founded the "Mott Golf Classic Scholars Program" in an effort to help Mott Hospital retain the brightest and best young physicians.

Golf Classic
The Mott Golf Classic has become one of Michigan’s most successful charitable golf outings. In 2008, the Classic raised more than $650,000 of support for patients & families, assistive technology initiatives and our capital commitment to fund the construction of the Ronald McDonald House within a hospital.
Held the first Monday in June, the Classic offers participants the opportunity to play a round of scramble-format golf on one of two championship courses - the University's Radrick Farms Golf Course or Barton Hills Country Club - followed by dinner and an awards presentation that evening at the Barton Hills Country Club. In addition, the following activities are part of the Classic festivities:

Committed to advancing pediatric medicine and enhancing the care experience for patients and their families at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. It will support unique initiatives that will distinguish C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.
Sunday Skins Game
This is a special event for sponsors in the presenting, premiere, major and supporting categories and their guests held the Sunday before the Classic. Million Dollar Shoot-out

Silent and Live Auctions
Throughout the Mott Golf Classic day, participants and guests are invited to bid on any of the wonderful items donated for the silent auction. In addition, a live auction is held during the evening's banquet and awards presentation.
Banquet and Awards Presentation
This is truly what the Mott Golf Classic is all about. Each year, the event celebrates the health of a former Mott patient, the physician who delivered this wonderful care, and the family who provided ongoing and unconditional support. The patients and families honored at this event have been through elaborate and extensive treatment processes at Mott Hospital and, as such, have experienced the wide range of exceptional services provided by Mott physicians, nurses, specialists, nutritionists, social workers, volunteers and others who make up the caregiver team. This is a remarkable opportunity for participants to see what their financial contributions can accomplish and how they are part of The Michigan Difference.
The banquet includes dinner, a live auction and speakers -- including the honored patient, family and caregiver team -- as well as presentation of the day's awards and the announcement of the estimated total raised by the event.
