Through a partnership with Detroit-based Pewabic Pottery, clay tiles are being specially created for the new C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital. There are a variety of ways that the community can participate. See our brochure.

Pay a Special Tribute
Celebrate a special occasion, honor someone special or remember a loved one with a Tribute Gift to the new C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital.
A distinctive way to create a lasting remembrance, your Tribute Gift will fund unique art pieces crafted by Pewabic Pottery that will create an inviting atmosphere for patients and families.
Tribute Gifts are available with a donation of $250. The person’s name or group’s name will be engraved onto a plaque displayed in the new Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital.
An acknowledgment letter will be sent to you with a card to send to the honoree to let them know of your thoughtful gift.
Sponsor a Mott Patient
Sponsor Mott patients to make decorative clay tiles that will be installed in the new University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital.
Nearly 1,500 of hand-made tiles are being crafted by former and current patients and will be installed permanently in the new facility.
For a donation of $100, community members can sponsor a Mott patient to create a tile. A donation of $1000 will purchase a tile set, which is a set of 4 Mott patient tiles with a border of specialty tiles. The tiles will help create a soothing atmosphere and will be used to help patients and families find their way around the new facility.
Make your Mark
University of Michigan Health System employees, volunteers and community members are invited to press and paint tiles that will be placed in the garden of the new C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital.
Make a lasting impression on the new hospital in three easy steps:
Step 1: Choose from 6 nature themed tile molds: turtle, swan, bird, flower, tree, and fish
Step 2: Press clay into the mold
Step 3: Once clay has dried, paint the tile

Tile Posters
Posters have been created that represent some of the hand crafted tiles that Mott patients have created that will be permanently installed in the new C. S. Mott Children’s Hospital. These are available for purchase for $10.
