What to Expect

Bringing a child to the hospital for a routine check-up, surgical procedure or long term stay can be a challenging and stressful time – for both parent and child.  At C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, we would like to help you navigate through all the uncertainty because we believe the more you know about your upcoming visit, the better that experience will be for you, your child and your family.

In this section you’ll find useful information to help familiarize you with the hospital environment – from how to find the admitting desk when you arrive to how to get around once you’re here.  We’ve also included information about what to bring from home, your child’s health care team, patient rights and responsibilities and the many ways your child will benefit by coming to a teaching hospital like Mott Children’s Hospital. From volunteer to physician, all of us at Mott are committed to making your visit as comfortable as possible.
