Medicaid Cuts & Children
July 2005 - U.S. Senate and House Committees are currently drafting legislation to reduce federal Medicaid spending by $10 billion over the next five years.
In Michigan, legislators and the governor are working on final versions of the budget that would reduce state Medicaid spending by over $100 million next year.

Child Passenger Safety in Michigan
In a 2001 National Safe Kids Coalition report ranking child passenger restraint laws, Michigan's Law received an "F" grade - ranking 29th out of 50 states and Washington D.C.
Take Action! Fax Your State Legislator - In Michigan children ages 4 to 8 are allowed to ride in adult safety belts. Research has shown that these children are 4 times more likely to suffer injuries to the head, brain, and abdominal organs than those using belt-positioning booster seats. Contact your legislator to share your concerns about child passenger safety in Michigan.
