On Saturday, November 17, 2007, the “Big Blue” Bike made its debut during half time at the UM – Ohio State game. Mikey and Paulie Teutel of Orange County Choppers and stars of the popular Discovery Channel’s American Chopper® presented the custom-made motorcycle to Dr. Robert Kelch, Executive Vice President of Medical Affairs for the University of Michigan Health System and Patricia Warner, Associate Hospital Director, UMHS and Chief Administrative Officer for U-M C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital. “Big Blue” will be auctioned off to the highest bidder along with a tailgate party for 10-20 people at a UM home game of their choice sponsored by Domino’s Pizza. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the new U-M C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital building campaign.
Custom built by Orange County Choppers, the Michigan 'Big Blue' Bike is a rigid, right side drive, 6-up, 5-out chopper with a 40 degree rake. See photos (pdf)
