The 2008 Griese/Hutchinson Champions for Children’s Hearts Celebrity Golf Tournament promises to be an exciting weekend and welcomes Mott supporters from across the country! In 2007, the inaugural tournament raised over $250,000 for the new C.S. Mott Children's and Women's Hospital and its Congenital Heart Center. NFL superstars Brian Griese and Steve Hutchinson have spearheaded this commitment to raise funds for the children’s hospital; this year the event will be held on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18, 2008.
Half of the proceeds from the 2007 Griese/Hutchinson Champions for Children’s Hearts Golf Tournament went to help with the construction of our new, state-of-the-art C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, which will open in 2011. The remaining proceeds went directly to U- M Congenital Heart Center for children with Congenital Heart Disease and their families. These funds have had a very immediate and important impact on individual patients and their families, and they continue to provide an opportunity for long-term investment in supporting education and research goals.
Funds raised from this year’s tournament will continue to support the construction project of the new C.S. Mott Children's and Women's Hospital, The Samara Mendu Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Intensive Care, and the Congenital Heart Center education and research programs .
Gala Dinner
A Gala dinner kicks off the weekend festivities, and welcomes sponsors, celebrities, hospital dignitaries, and members of the Ann Arbor community. This exclusive evening includes a deluxe cocktail reception, live and silent auction, and program featuring a patience family. Our program will include words from featured speaker Lloyd Carr, and a presentation from one of our Mott families.
We are very appreciative of the professional athletes who have graciously partnered with us to support this special tournament. Several celebrity guests have committed to this year’s event, including Charles Woodson, Braylon Edwards, Jeff Backus, Lloyd Carr, Rich Rodriguez, Dan Dierdorf, and Anthony Carter.

This one-of-a-kind child’s playhouse will soon be home to a very lucky youngster! Christian Tennant Custom Homes collaborated with Myefski Cook Architects, Inc., Nicollette Bozsik Interiors, and Mans Lumber and Millwork to create this beautiful ‘Storybook Cottage.’ This fully-furnished playhouse will feature stained shingles, a copper roof, custom made French doors, window boxes, a fireplace, kitchenette, and more!
Enjoy the fun, competition, and excitement of 'The Greatest Show on Grass," the 2009 FBR Open in Scottsdale, Arizona, January 29th - February 2nd 2009. The FBR Open is the largest attended tournament on the PGA TOUR, provides the best entertainment in golf. As a guest of the Title sponsor, you will enjoy a true VIP experience.
