Young ICD Connection, A New Beginning October 22, 2011

Support and Education for Young ICD Recipients

Activities for children, teens, young adults and families

Come join us for an all day event celebrating and educating those touched by ICDs. Our goal is to educate in a festive yet relaxed atmosphere while connecting with others who share similar experiences. This event is free of charge and graciously provided by Medtronic Inc.

Sessions

9:00 - 9:30 am: Registration & Continental Breakfast
9:30 - 10:50 am: Welcome and Perspectives from Special Guests
11:00 -12:30 pm: Adults - Break Out for Support Sessions

  • Women's group: Women with ICDs over 18
  • Men's group: For the Guys with ICDs
  • Parents of ICD Patients Group
  • Spouses, Significant Others Group

*Siblings and friends are free to attend any of the above sessions

  • Kids & Teens - Scavenger Hunt / Team Building Fun

12:30 - 2:00 pm: Lunch and Open Information Booths

2:00-3:00 pm: Adults & Teens -

  • Celebrating Survivorship, Adjusting to Treatment with an ICD, and Learning to Live to the Best of Your Ability Key Note Speaker, Lauren Vasquez, PhD
  • Kids - Planting for the Future

3 :30-5:00 pm:

  • Adults - Meet our Panel & Connect with the Experts
  • Teens - Support Group & Hang Out Time
  • Kids - Art Activity with Abrakadoodle

4:30-8:00 pm: Closing Reception, Dinner and Dancing
