The following are recommendations for workstations in patient care areas from Corbie Wells of Security Services. The recommendations relate to theft and or damage of the Mott Family Network equipment. The effort to develop workstations for use by the children in C. S. Mott hospital offers MCIT an opportunity to do our part in improving security of both purchased and donated assets of UMHS.

Deterrents

• Branding of workstations and monitors by University Stores
• Etching of mice, joysticks, workstations, and displays by Security Services personnel
• Painting of etching with bright colors indicating property of Mott Family Network

Theft prevention

• Workstations and monitor mounts use security screws that require specialized hardware to install or remove

Monitoring

• 24 hour monitoring of security cameras
• Regular patrolling of the floors

• Provide all pertinent information, such as location, damage observed, time, etc.
