Animal Phenotyping

Michigan Metabolomics and Obesity Center (MMOC)
Michigan Diabetes and Research Training Center (MDRTC)

Goals

MiniSpec

To advance research in the area of diabetes and obesity by providing experimental tools to the scientific community for phenotyping rat and mouse models of diabetes, obesity and related metabolic disorders.

Broaden the scope of techniques available to individual investigators.

Standardize methodologies related to metabolic phenotyping.

Bring together the multidisciplinary investigators at the University to apply and develop new in vivo and in vitro

techniques to assess metabolism in rats and mice.

Coordinate interactions among university researchers interested in metabolic diseases.

Compile a database for rodent models of diabetes and obesity.
