About Us
The overall goals of the Michigan Metabolomics and Obesity Center
The Michigan Metabolomics and Obesity Center was founded to support of rational, innovative and cost-effective behavioral, clinical, epidemiological and health services research which is critical to the meaningful translation of discoveries in the preclinical arena for metabolic disease.
The MMOC provides core laboratory services in the areas of human and animal phenotyping as well as metabolomic profiling. The cores laboratories provides user-friendly help in the design and execution of studies that utilize the cores. The Systems Biology Core provides personnel and programs to interpret complex data sets arising from genomic, proteomic, metabolomic and related metabolic studies.
The MMOC offers support through a variety of grant programs designed to enhance collaborative research among investigators. The MMOC also supports regular lectures from internal and outside speakers in all areas of metabolism-related research.
