Active U 2007
Active U is U-M’s eight-week physical activity challenge that will help motivate you with peer support, free fitness gear, free limited access to select U-M rec centers, and a chance to earn some serious cash for your favorite charity.

Ask the Personal Trainer
Personal training questions are answered every Monday at the Health & Wellness Center at the University Hospital in room 2C223 from 9:30am - 1:30pm.

If you would like more one on one time with a personal trainer MFit staff are also available for personal training at both the MFit Fitness Center - Ice Cube and at UM RecSports.

Move, Lose & Maintain
MFit's 8 week incentive program that challenges you to become more physically active, eat better, and jump-start a healthier life-style. There are no weekly meetings - MFit staff will see you once at your registration/weigh-in, and again when you complete the program and weigh-out or you can record your information online. We are always available to answer questions!

Ask the Registered Dietitian
If you have questions about diet or how you can start fitting healthier choices into your daily routine, let MFit's nutrition professionals help. If you are interested in asking questions of an MFit Registered Dietitian, e-mail us at mfitnutrition@med.umich.edu.

They are supportive of your physical activity and nutrition goals, and can help you develop specific strategies to meet them!

Good Choice
The Health System is helping patients, faculty and staff make healthier snack choices by providing healthier options in its vending machines. The new program, dubbed “GOOD CHOICE,” is the result of a partnership between MFit, AVI Food Systems, Retail Food Services administration and C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Fifty percent of all snacks within Health System vending machines will meet MFit nutrition standards by the end of October. Look for the MFit label and make a “GOOD CHOICE” for your healthy snacking needs! This is a pilot program that will be rolled out campus-wide in the spring as part of the Michigan Healthy Community’s Healthy Eating program.

Healthy Cooking Classes
Renowned MFit culinary experts make high fit-low fat cooking and eating tastier, healthier and easer than ever. Classes are held September through May.

MFit Nutrition
MFit Nutrition was established in the late 1980s to help individuals optimize their health by making healthier food choices. By offering cooking classes, a weight management program, nutrition coaching, the MFit Healthy Dining Program for restaurants and food service companies, seminars, and healthy eating resources, we are committed to improving the health status of UMHS employees, their families and the community.

Weight Management

MFit Weight Management Program: Healthy Habits for Life
Imagine the power of acquiring the tools you need to make your quest for a healthy lifestyle a positive and successful journey. Healthy Habits for Life: MFit's Weight Management Program will help you succeed in your journey. This year-long program is now 4 years old and going strong with great results. Our comprehensive program includes both group sessions and one-on-one consultations with dietitians, fitness specialists and behavior specialists. We will provide you with individualized nutrition and physical activity plans, blood work and health assessments. Unlike most weight control programs that focus only on diet and weight loss, Healthy Habits for Life is different.

U-M Employee Weight Management Program: Healthy Habits at Work
MFit has created a weight management program designed exclusively for U-M employees who want to participate at their worksites. Convenience, affordability, a professional staff and a ‘whole person’ approach to developing healthy eating and physical activity habits for life are the cornerstones of this new program.

Nutrtion Coaching
MFit Nutrition Coaches are registered dietitians, degreed nutrition experts you can trust. Whether you're unsure of how to balance your caloric and nutritional needs, trying to make sense of conflicting nutritional information or just looking for support in your continued weight loss efforts, an MFit Nutrition Coach will help you in a non-judgmental, confidential way. Tobacco Consultation Service
