U-M Employee Weight Management Program:
Healthy Habits at Work

MFit has created a weight management program designed exclusively for U-M employees who want to participate at their worksites. Convenience, affordability, a professional staff and a ‘whole person’ approach to developing healthy eating and physical activity habits for life are the cornerstones of this new program.

Designed to meet during regular working hours at a work location convenient for you, this program can be subsidized by a department or paid for individually by a group of U-M employees. A minimum of ten employees is required to start a group and groups can have up to 20 participants. These small groups create a cohesive unit that is accepting, supportive, motivational, and celebratory – key ingredients to the program’s behavior modification component.

U-M Employee Weight Management Program is led by U-M Health System professionals, including: registered dietitians, health and fitness specialists, and behavior specialists. You have unlimited access to the MFit team, via phone and email, during the course of the program. We are available to answer your unique questions as well as to help you track your progress. Our goal is to help empower you to manage your health for life.

This 10-week program includes:

  • 1-1 consult with a registered dietitian and health and fitness specialist
  • Weekly on-site group meetings, 45 minutes each
  • Small, weekly steps to achieve lifetime strategies for success
  • Weekly recipes
  • Optional weigh-ins
