Dear Students, we are aware that the multi-speed function does not function optimally on the new version of the Lecture Capture system, (e.g. playback returns to the normal speed after a pause). We are working with the manufacturer to fix this. We will let you know when new information arises. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue. - Chris Chapman (Manager of the Instructional Multimedia Development Team in the LRC – Room 3901).

Overview:
For fall 2011 we will have 2 lecture systems:
- Mediasite: Provides lecture video and high quality Powerpoint slides in one package. The integrated “rich media” format is streamed to you, and can be downloaded for off-network access. Windows users will be able to advance the speed of the lecture up to 2x normal speeds in Internet Explorer. Other browsers, and Mac users, will only be able to view at regular speed currently. Multispeed viewing should be available in January, 2012 for both Operating Systems.
- Downloadable MP4 videos: Provides lecture video only (e.g., no high quality PowerPoint slides). The files are stored in Ctools (M1 2011-2012 -> Resources -> M1 Lectures). The video file (mp4 format) allows Mac and Windows users to download the lecture to their computer, and to speed up lecture videos using Apple’s Quicktime player. These files can be also used on iPads or other handheld devices that support the mp4 video standard.
When are videos posted?
Mediasite: are posted shortly after each lecture.
Downloadable MP4 Videos: are available by 12:30pm and 4:30pm each day.
