Eight sites in University Hospital house computers specifically set aside for medical student use. Each computer is a Dell PC connected to the Hospital’s computer network. Each PC is equipped with a set of stereo headphones.

To use these computers you must log on to the computer using your Novell login. Novell logins can be obtained from Medical Center Information Technology (MCIT) at 936-8000 or via the web at

http://www.med.umich.edu/i/mcit/

Important for those using CARDIAX, NeuroLogic and EBM from the hospital network (the instructions below do not apply to those using CDs).

1) First log in using your Novell login.

2) Once you have logged on and the desktop appears, click on the Start button at the lower left of the screen, then choose:
Programs->MedSchool and pick the program you wish to use.

3) A new login prompt will appear.

Enter:Username: med_student
Password: med

Note: If this fails to log you on, click on “Advanced” on the login prompt. Make sure of the following:Location:

Tree: Michigan
Context: MedStudents.SchoolAdmin.med.umich If you don’t find this context on the pull-down menu, click on the “Context” button. Use the following path and click on “MedStudent:”
