Laptop Support at Med School
 

The first stop on the support path is the LRC Help Desk in the LRC Computer Cluster (Room 3950 in the Taubman Medical Library). You can also e-mail (lrc_help@umich.edu ) or call 734-936-2239). Most issues related to wireless and support of the installed programs can be addressed and answered there.

We will also have a certified computer engineer available at the LRC Help Desk for advanced laptop problems.

1 Most 802.11 a/b/g wireless cards work with the Med School wireless network which is 802.11b.

2 If time permits, we will provide initial consultation and diagnosis of basic problems (which may in the process resolve the problem). However, in general we do not provide support for applications, operating systems, hardware, or other issues not connected with Med School network access. All other technical difficulties or questions should be directed to the appropriate vendor or laptop repair facility.

3 Windows XP Home Edition and Windows ME are not fully compatible with the Med School's network; therefore we don't support those operating systems.
