Laptop Media Tests
 

Below is a series of commonly used applications that are used during the M1 and M2 years of Medical School. We have provided links to media that you can use to see how theses applications will work on your computer. If you have questions or need help, please email lrc_help@umich.edu.

 
To Test Streamed Videos

1) Download Real Player --> Download Here

2) To view an example streamed lecture video (requires consistent internet connection), Click Here

3) If you would like to test Enounce 2xAv (for speeding up lecture videos), you can download a free trial from Enounce. Click Here.

 
To Test Downloadable Lecture Videos

1) Download and install Quicktime (needed for viewing on a computer only)--> Download Here

2) Download an example video (mp4 video file to be viewed on a computer or mobile device). Click Here.

 
To Test Aperio Imagescope

1) Download and install Aperio Imagescope --> Download Here

2) Once software is installed, test viewing an image

a) Do not test an image over a wireless connection, use a wired connection. It is best to use DSL or other high speed connection. Dial-up will not perform very well.

b) Click on the following link to access an image --> Imagescope Image

 
To Test Professional Skill Builder

1) Using Internet Explorer go to: http://www.med.umich.edu/lrc/psb

2) Click the right arrow (forward) in the lower right hand side of the screen until you get to the 3rd Screen.

3) Select "Emergency Medicine "

4) Select the 1st case.

5) On the screen named "Introduction 1" is the video loading and playing? Go forward five screens.

6) On the screen named "Initial Assessment: 5," can you drag and drop the red and black items?
