IMpact Program
Enhancing athleticism, reducing the likelihood of serious injury

MedSport’s IMpact Program is designed to focus on building functional strength, coordination, and agility emphasizing proper jumping and landing techniques for high risk sports skills. The purpose of MedSport’s IMpact Program is to enhance athleticism as well as reduce the likelihood of serious injury as it pertains to sports activity.
Jump training programs throughout the country have shown through research to decrease the likelihood of ACL injuries in athletes, especially females. Female athletes are nearly 8 times more likely to sustain an ACL injury than that of their male counterparts.
MedSport’s IMpact Program has been designed and tailored from outcomes of this research, however, this program specifically has not been researched. We are in the process of researching this specific program from both a long term and a short term standpoint and its effects with ACL injuries in female athletes.
We cannot guarantee that upon completion of MedSport’s IMpact Program that you will be injury free. We do know that past research on other programs has shown a significant decrease in injuries, specifically that of ACL injuries. Also, there is always a risk of injury with any activity that you do, this includes MedSport’s IMpact Program.
MedSport’s IMpact Program includes the following:
- Pre- and Post- program testing of all athletes in vertical jump height and leg press test.
- Six week jump training progression followed by two weeks of sport specific and agility exercises. Exercises are performed 3 times per week for a total of 8 weeks at our MedSport Athletic Performance Center.
- Functional strength training/flexibility home exercise program to be completed on opposite days of jump training.
