These would be for (1) competitive renewals or (2) new grants that are a continuation of previously funded research. Also eligible are new R01s from a component of a previously funded P/Center grants that have now failed. These options all must demonstrate PI effort to address reviewers’ critiques. PI must show financial need and requests will be evaluated by BMRC.
- Medical School FAST TRACK Bridging Grant Program – Funds to prepare A1 when A0 submission was highly scored (i.e., within 5 percentile points of the Institute payline) and financial need is demonstrated; no scientific review if applicant is eligible and requirements completed.
- Extended Research Bridging Program for Instructional Track Faculty – Funding for established investigators (i.e., history of ≥ 2 R01s) who are experiencing funding drought and who need to sustain laboratory at a minimal level to maintain research integrity; requests evaluated by EBS and/or scientific review panel.
