Frequently Asked Questions
1) Do I need to send reprints?
No, we may request them at a later date but they are not required for
the initial application.
2) When can I find out about the status of my application?
The Biological Sciences Scholars Program (BSSP) Search Committee reviews each application we receive. Formal updates are provided to applicants after all applications have been reviewed. Due to the sensitive and complex nature of the review process, this information is not available online.
E-mail inquiries about the status of an application in the review process may be directed to bsspapply@umich.edu and will be answered starting about eight weeks after the review process has begun following the application deadline.
3) How do I know my application has been received?
You will get an e-mail confirmation after you apply and each time you
update your application.
4) How do I find out if my letters of support have been received?
You will be copied on the e-mail confirmation that will be sent to the
individual who has submitted a letter for you. You may also check the
contents of your application package by choosing the "Check Status of Application" link at: https://www.umms.med.umich.edu/ssp/bsspapply/.
5) What should I do if I want to withdraw my application?
Please contact us by e-mail (bsspapply@umich.edu) and we will either delete
your application or store it if you wish to be considered at
a later date.
